Good morning,
We have a few Lenovo T460 laptops that came with Intel SSDD Model SSDS C2KF256H6L 256gig drives exhibiting a disturbing trend.
Most of the units that we have received came with Samsung 256gig drives but recently our latest shipment came with the Intel drives
We are running Windows 7 64bit Enterprise edition and since we deployed these Intel drive units, we have been getting complaints of system locks. The user will be working and no matter what application they are running, the unit will suddenly freeze.
The mouse and keyboard become unresponsive and a hard shut down has to be performed to bring the unit back up.
We have tried all manner of updates first. Drivers, BIOS updates, and complete vanilla OS installs. Same issue. I'm thinking there's a glitch somewhere in the firmware that Lenovo refuses to address as they state that if it's a firmware issue on the drive, Intel has to address and since all diagnostics come up as PASSED, there's no reason to swap the drive under warranty. However, if I swap a drive with a Samsung EVO 256g or 500g drive, even after doing a complete clone from an Intel to Samsung drive, the problem goes away.
Is there a known issue or fix for these issues available?
Thank you.
